Welcome to this weeks instalment of the Beardie Weirdie Blog!
I’m discovering more things that are incompatible with the beard/moustache combo that I’ve got going on. This weekend, the sun was shining, and we had a couple of friends over for some eats and drinks on Sunday afternoon. Being a beautiful sunny day, the ice cream man paid us a visit, and Mr Whippy ice cream is going to be out this year. That gave me a spark of inspiration - perhaps I should launch www.stuffinmybeard.com, but it’s already up and running! An intriguing site - give it a click!
This weeks photo was taken in our garden on Thursday by my daughter Erin. I’d just cut the grass, and fancied a go on the swings!

Swing boy, swing!
Moving on to this weeks Beard of the Week, this week is Derren Brown. I’ve been luck enough to see Derren a couple of times in Stevenage when he has toured. Now that he’s made it, he shunned the smaller venues, so we’re off to Bournemouth for the weekend to see his latest material this weekend - it was a lovely birthday gift from my wife, Sam.

Hello there, and welcome along to this weeks Beardie Blog!
I hope you’ve all recovered from the Easter weekend, and I hope the Easter Bunny was generous to you.
Well, the donations have dried up again, perhaps I need to go on holiday again.
I need to mention the Blue Cross this week. Not the Animal Welfare Charity, but the Blue Cross Sale at Debenhams. In my contribution to getting the country, no, the world out of recession, I have bought a new coat in the sale, and my lovely wife, Sam, has dubbed me “Beardie Weirdie Anorak Boy”, so here’s the evidence:

The 17th April is a very special day in our family. Today we celebrate two special birthdays, both my daughter Erin, and my sister Nic have birthdays today, so Happy Birthday girlies!
That neatly brings us onto this weeks “Beard of the Week”, or rather “Beards of the Week”. Erin and Nic have agreed to don false beards, and become my first female Beardies.

Welcome to a special edition of the Beardie Weirdie Blog!
Well, I’ve made it to the 100 day marker. With a little help of Excel, I worked out that today, 10th April 2009, is the 100th day of my beard growing!
Some doubted I would break three months, but it’s going well. I’ve even pretty much come to terms with the moustache.
Here’s what 100 days of beard growth looks like!

Today’s photo was actually taken today on the Isle of Wight! We’ve just got back from holiday, and I took the photo queuing for the ferry. We stayed at St Martin’s in Shanklin. If you’ve never visited the island, I’d strongly recommend that you do - we had a fantastic holiday.
Big thanks to Oakers, Chris and Penfold for this weeks donations! Thanks to the generosity of a lot of good people, I’m on target at the moment, and will be sending off a press release next week to the local press, so will hopefully gain some more donors and readers.
This weeks Beard of the Week has been suggested by a couple of people - Oakers and Dan, and is the legendary David Bellamy.

Tune in same time next week for another update, and have a great Easter - don’t eat too many chocolate eggs!
Welcome to this weeks instalment of the Beardie Weirdie Blog!
Well, I’m now a quarter of the way through my year of beard growing. If I was running a company rather than growing a beard, I’d be doing my VAT about now! It’s quite a daunting thought that my beard may be 4 times the length it is now by the end of the year!
It’s been a great week for donations, with my lovely Mum, Jo & Tim, and Stash. Thank you so much for digging deep during these hard times. Your hard earned is going to a fantastic cause, and will definitely be put to good use.
Worth a mention this week is recently founded British Beard Club. The club has been formed to support and encourage bearded men. Their website even has a gallery, which I now feature on!
The beard is getting long enough to start playing with. I’m hoping to get to the stage of plaiting it. Here’s the progress on the beard so far:

This weeks beard of the week was suggested by my friend Henry. He’s just turned one, and his suggestion was interpreted by his Mum, Cathy. I was helping friends put up a fence at the weekend, and apparently, from the house, I look like Bluto! So here he is.
