It’s not unusual…….. No comments yet

Hello and welcome to a slightly belated edition of Beardie Weirdie blog.

I’ve just returned from a wonderful week in North Wales.  We stayed at Cae Crwn, which is a beautiful holiday home owned by my lovely friend Toni.  There are oodles of photographs on her website, but it really doesn’t do it justice!

North Wales is a beautiful part of the United Kingdom, and we really didn’t want to come home - we’re back to the real world with a bump!

Today is my Mums birthday (I won’t embarrass her by revealing her age!), so big Happy Birthday wishes to my mum, Rose.  They’re away holidaying in the Lake District at the moment, so we’ll have to wait until the weekend to celebrate her birthday with her.

I’d like to send out a big, big thank to Humanji for his very generous donation this week - it’s put me right back on track with the fund-raising.

This weeks bearded photo is a family shot taken at the top of Mount Snowdon, which we climbed on Sunday.

Follow on with the Welsh theme, this weeks Beard of The Week is Tom Jones.   Even though Sir Tom is well into his sixties, he’s still got it - I saw his performance on the Jonathan Ross show a few weeks ago, and he can still rock it with the best of them!

That’s all for this week, tune in same time next week for more Beardiness.

Hello, good evening and welcome to this weeks bearded adventure.

How do everyone!  All good I hope!

With the weather starting to warm up, it’s more my hair than my beard that’s starting to bother me.  I had flirted with the idea growing my hair for a year in line with the beard, but I don’t really think that’s going to happen.  My head hair is so thick and heavy, I reckon it will be hacked off in the next couple of weeks.

There are no additional funds in the pot this week, so rather than thanks for your hard earned monies, thanks for reading!

This weeks photograph was taken by me in my living room.  I’m not sure how well you can see it in the photo, but the beard is definitely taking on bits of blonde, ginger and grey.  I think as the summer progresses, it will get lighter.  Oh well, they do say that blondes have more fun!

This weeks “Beard of the Week” was suggested by my mate Dan, and is Bill Bailey.  Bill is a funny, funny man, and also a musical genius!

It’s not itchy! No comments yet

Hello there Beard Fans, and welcome along to this weeks Beardie Weirdie Blog!

I’m in a good place with the beard at the moment, despite a lot of people giving me funny looks - I think a lot of people are suspicious of people with beards. I have no idea why!

Most people I talk too say something along the lines of, “Oooh, isn’t it itchy?”, well, no, it isn’t! The beard was itchy at the stubble phase months ago, but that phase has well and truly passed. Head hair isn’t itchy, and neither is facial hair, in fact, it’s nice and soft. It doesn’t take any more care than head hair - I shampoo it every other day, comb it twice a day, and if I feel like pampering myself, I occasionally have a sneaky pinch of some of the wife’s conditioner!

Speaking of the wife, many thanks to Sam for this weeks donation! I’d like to thank her for her support and tolerance of the beard - she’s not a beard fan, but she’s really on my side with it.

Here’s this weeks mugshot, taken on Thursday in my office.

Welcome to this weeks instalment of the Beardie Weirdie Blog!

Well, there’s no denying that that year is marching on.  I’d like to think that early summer is upon us - things in the garden are growing and getting cut, and my beard is growing, but not getting cut.  Also, the smell of outdoor cooking on the BBQ on sunny days is hard to avoid.

Not remotely beard related. but with a mention nevertheless, is the Stotfold Mill Steam Fair and Country Show.   Having been brought up in a coal bunker, messing about with steam engines, I can thoroughly recommend spending a day there.

I’ve picked up a couple of donations from two of my regulars – my lovely Mum, Rose, and my friend Chris. Thanks again to them for their support.

This weeks photo was taken on Thursday lunchtime by me. My office is close enough to the River Great Ouse in Bedford to get out for a nice walk. Looks like I’m going blonde in the full sun!

Moving on to this weeks Beard of the Week, suggested by my friend Tom, this week is Charles Darwin. Beards were much more popular in Victorian times, and I hope to continue bringing the beard back.

Welcome to this weeks instalment of the Beardie Weirdie Blog!

Well, Derren Brown didn’t disappoint!  The wife and I had a smashing weekend down in Bournemouth.  It’s a lovely town, and the hotel, beach, town, restaurant and show were all excellent!

The first of May marks the 4 month, so I’m a third of the way into my bearded adventure.

This weeks photo was actually taken at the weekend on Bournemouth beach, and the lady in the photograph with me is my lovely wife, Sam.

Moving on to this weeks Beard of the Week, suggested by my friend Kelly, this week is the one and only James Hetfield from Metallica.  He’s sported some interesting facial over the years, and is currently sporting an impressive goatee.
